This month's latest news from the Wales Tourism Alliance
The Wales Tourism Alliance (WTA) was formed when the National Assembly for Wales was established and the responsibility for tourism was devolved from Westminster to Cardiff. It has evolved over the years and is now widely recognised as the voice of the tourism industry in Wales.
The WTA, via its member organisations represents some 7000 tourism businesses, covering all the major sectors of the industry. WTA member organisations include pan UK, pan Wales and regional bodies.
The fundamental role of the WTA is to inform and convey the views and needs of the tourism community to the Welsh Assembly Government, the Minister for Heritage (whose portfolio includes tourism) and to Westminster (on non devolved issues). We ensure that the industry is involved in the decision making process and also convey the views of Government to the industry.
The WTA works closely with the industry, the Assembly, Visit Wales and VisitBritain on UK matters. It aims to link sectors and raise main policy matters with politicians and Visit Wales.
